1. Home Buyer Needs Assessment Sheet: This sheet helps you identify your needs and goals as a homebuyer, such as your budget, lifestyle, and preferences. It can also help you assess your financial readiness for homeownership. This information is helpful for both you and your real estate agent when finding the right home. Lenders may also use this information to assess your financial readiness for a mortgage.
2. New York State Disclosure Form for Buyer and Seller: This form is required by New York State law. It explains the different types of real estate agency relationships and your rights and obligations under each type of relationship. This disclosure helps you make informed choices about your relationship with your real estate agent.
3. Exclusive Right to Represent Agreement: This agreement means that you will only be represented by one real estate agent during the home buying process. This is the most common type of buyer agency agreement. A buyer agency agreement is a legally binding contract that details the services that your agent will provide, the type of agency relationship, and how compensation will be paid. Signing an agreement at the outset of the relationship protects both you and your agent from misunderstandings.
